Rootcanal Treatment
Our teeth are made for a lifetime to maintain their function. However, if a tooth gets damaged by decay, fracture or trauma the inside of the tooth will be contaminated with bacterias and the nerve will be infected.
Heavy toothache might be the consequence eventual with a swelling. The bone around the root tip might be damaged, which on a xray looks like a black cloud around the root tip. (Picture 1)
In order to save the tooth a root canal treatment is necessary.
We do this with the help of a computer in a minimal invasive way. Very gently we open the tooth from the top, remove the pain causing tissue and clean the root canals meticulously.
The root canals (Picture 2) sometimes one even up to four are very often delicate, curved and even ramified. For success in treatment closed knowledge of root morphologie is necessary and highest precision has to be applied.
In case where not all the remaining infected tissue is removed, pain and discomfort can reaccure even after years.
When the black cloud around the root tip disappeared (Picture4) and the Patient is without discomfort, treatment is a success.
Wurzelfüllung Revision
Wenn an einem Zahn bereits eine Wurzelfüllung gemacht wurde und der Patient dennoch Schmerzen hat, dann nehmen wir eine Revision des Zahnes vor.
Revisionen sind zeitaufwendiger und schwieriger als normale Wurzelfüllungen. Den alten, schmerzverursachende Zement, manchmal sogar abgebrochene Instrumente entfernen wir vollständig. Anschließend reinigen wir die Kanäle sorgfältig von Bakterien und trocknen sie.
Erst dann können wir erneut eine Wurzelfüllung nach vorgeschriebenem Protokoll durchführen. Auf diese Weise erhalten wir den Zahn, ohne ihn durch ein Implantat oder eine Brücke zu ersetzen.
Eine 32 jährige Patientin kam mit extremen Zahnschmerzen.
Die Röntgenaufnahme zeigte als Ursache eine fehlerhafte Wurzelfüllung mit einem schwarzen Schatten (Entzündung) um die Wurzelspitzen.
Nach der Wiederholung der Wurzelfüllung war die Patientin beschwerdefrei und sehr erleichtert. Nach weiteren sechs Monaten war auch der Schatten verschwunden.
